A 19-year-old female Muslim terrorist, a student at the Sorbonne, was arrested in December in Essonne, planning a terror attack in Rennes.
She claimed to have practiced “taqiyya”, the practice of intentionally violating religious laws of Islam to hide her radicalization. She had a “normal” social life, even taking part in student parties and consuming alcohol.
Born in Toulouse and living in Essonne, the young Muslima Jihadist attracted the attention of law enforcement when she tried to get a Kalashnikov assault rifle via the encrypted telegram messaging application, popular with ISIS terrorists and recruiters.
She had never before drawn the attention of the intelligence services.
Questioned by the Directorate General of Internal Security (DGSI), the terrorist told investigators that she chose Rennes, because the police presence was not as strong.
She had already wrote her will, which was found at her home in Épinay-sous-Sénart by the investigators of the DGSI.
She said she wanted to target one of the popular venues in Rennes with a Kalashnikov rifle in a terror attack that recalls the November 13th Paris attacks.
