Warplanes are said to have dropped dozens of bombs leaving civilians injured.

And helicopters allegedly sent by the Russian-backed Assad regime also dropped chlorine ‘barrel bombs’ , it has been claimed.

The Syrian American Medical Society says its hospitals in the area treated 11 patients for chlorine gas poisoning.

Assad, backed by his ally Russia, has repeatedly denied using chemical weapons during the civil war in Syria.

The Trump administration launched 59 cruise missiles in April last year after the President saw images of children killed by a nerve gas attack.
