At least seven people were killed and 30 wounded Thursday when a gas cylinder exploded in a building in the Sabra neighborhood in western Gaza.
As a result of the explosion in the crowded neighborhood, part of the building collapsed, leading to a high number of casualties, including children.
Search and rescue services in the strip evacuated the injured from the site of the collapse.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion was the result of a quarrel between two rival extended families, also known as clans, in the neighborhood. It occurred after a member of one of the Abu Assi clan set fire to a gas cylinder he brought with him next to the residency of the rival clan.
An AFP correspondent said security forces of Hamas, the terror group that runs Gaza, closed off the nearby area to journalists after the explosion.
