A week after last Friday’s violent riots, Hamas’s so-called march of return continues with the ‘Friday of the tires’, with Muslim terrorists burning tires in eco-terrorism attacks in five locations along the security border fence with Gaza.
The IDF continued Friday to block Hamas attempts to breach the border fence from Gaza, after declaring the area a closed military zone.
No special instruction was issued to Israelis residing in communities near the Gaza border.
A Muslim terrorist was eliminated east of Gaza City and another east of Khan Yunis in the south of Gaza, after attempting to approach the security border fence. Gaza’s Ministry of Health claimed another two eliminated terrorists, five others seriously wounded and a total of 300 injured.
At the conclusion of Friday’s prayers, the number of tires terrorists burned increased and thick smoke covered most of the riot’s centers. The number of rioters, however, was small.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit offered the army’s first comments, saying violent riots were taking place in five locations along the Gaza Strip since Friday morning.
IDF forces, consequently, have been deploying crowd control measures, water cannons to put out fires, giant fans to disperse smoke and live fire, in accordance with the army’s rules of engagement.
IDF forces have thus far shot at more than ten main instigators who came near the fence, a markedly smaller amount compared to last Friday’s attempts.
Several attempts to damage or cross the border fence took place Friday afternoon under cover of the thick smoke emanating from the burning tires.
Attempts were also made to throw explosive charges and firebombs under the smoke’s cover. All were thwarted by the IDF.
The IDF further stated it will not allow any harm to come to security infrastructures or to the border fence, which protect Israeli civilians, and that it will retaliate against any violent rioters and terrorists involved in so doing.

Criticism regarding Hamas’s actions also came from an unexpected source, when ISIS terrorists utilized its weekly newsletter to blast the Gaza terror group for not defending the Gaza rioters it sent to the border.
“Hamas sent thousands of its activists and called on refugees in Gaza’s camps to participate in ‘peaceful protests’ against the Jews. This exposed those innocents to death at the Jews’ hands, without the fighters from the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades or any of the other organizations subordinate to Hamas intervening,” the Islamic State wrote.
